A
native of Georgia, Gloria Harrell has become an established and successful
business owner of Mattress King over the past 17 years. Creatively gifted,
Gloria helps in writing and directing all of her commercials.
Recent studies published prove that her advertising gets the attention
of customers as they relate to “the pretty little lady in the red dress”.
Not only is the red dress her signature, but her slogan “After All,
Mattresses are our Business” distinguishes her business from the rest.
Gloria is well respected in both the Christian and Business community in
Atlanta
. She and her husband,
Gary, have transformed their original Mattress King Store location into a
thriving company with 30 locations around
Georgia
.
Gloria opened the House of Hope Outreach Ministry on
February 3,
1997. Through hard work and total dedication to
Jesus she has turned a vision into reality.
The vision started from a drug and alcohol related tragedy that resulted in the
loss of Gloria’s sister, Charmaine.
It is in Charmaine’s memory that the House of Hope Outreach Ministry is
dedicated. Gloria’s passion for
the ministry also stems from her overcoming addictions, abandonment, abuse and
depression, sickness, tragedies, and the loss of loved ones.
She knows what it is like to be desperate and without hope.
Gloria states “through the power and love of God, He has set me free.
It is by His grace that I walk.
God has blessed me abundantly with a godly husband, children, grandchildren,
and a very successful business. He has placed in my heart a vision to restore
lives as he did mine. My heart’s
desire is to set the captives free.”
Gloria and her husband, Gary, have leveraged their business
and media relationships to assist in supporting Gloria’s ministry, which
reaches well beyond her home state.
The Harrell’s were the sole supporters of House of Hope Outreach Ministry for
many years. As the need for
funding grew, the Annual Celebrity Golf Fundraiser was started.
God has now called Gloria to serve full-time in her ministry.
As she is led to expand House of Hope to even greater levels, Gloria
knows it will require many to partner with her to support the Outreach Programs
(65-75% of Americans suffer from addiction abuse issues and dysfunctional
families.) The Ministry has
continued to expand over the course of the past seven years to include a
residence program for women and children in distressed situations.
