I found House of Hope on the internet as I was frantically searching for a close
to home aftercare. Some people said that 90 days would never be enough, but we
had faith that God had directed us to House of Hope. House of Hope provided a
small group setting, with personal attention, but most of all, we found loving
people that genuinely cared and showed the love of Christ through their
counseling and concern.
My husband finished the program in September and continues to go twice a week to
help out with the group. He enjoys sharing and meeting with others and helping
out however he can.
Our family is so grateful to the Lord for restoration, deliverance and sobriety.
It is our desire for God to use us however He chooses. We just want to share
what a miracle God did in our lives to anyone who will listen. God will make a
way if you submit your will to him. We are living proof of that. Thank you
House of Hope for all your love, attention and support to our family. We are
celebrating 11 months sobriety on February 13, 2004. We give God all the
glory!!

I am
a new creature in Christ. I come from a spiritually religious background &
was active in the church, but only as much as I felt I had to. I wanted to live
for God on Sunday & party like a maniac during the week. Alcohol was the
key ingredient to that manic behavior. Other drugs, such as crystal meth, weed,
coke & pill, soon followed, but alcohol was my drug of choice. The last 15
years are a blur. I had no meaning in my life, no accountability & no
control. I did feel some remorse, but the addiction overrode any measure of
reasonable or responsible behavior. About a year ago my health started failing.
I realized I did have a problem. The consequences of 15 years of alcohol &
drug use caught up with me.
After
two months of combination of in-patient & out-patient rehabilitation, two
relapses & much prayer, I feel as though God truly healed me. Aftercare
treatment was the next step. House of Hope is exactly what God intended for the
last part of this journey out of addiction. I knew God had put these angels in
my path. The counselors at House of Hope have helped me with past & present
issues & have equipped me for the future. I graduated in June 2003, but God
has layed it on my heart to continue my recovery at House of Hope. Gloria
Harrell, the founder of House of Hope, has a God-given vision of ministry so
relevant to today’s society. When I made three months sober, Rhonda, the
Director of Family Services, gave me a diploma & serenity coin. I carry
that coin to remind me of the past, present & future – one step at a time.
House of Hope is truly a blessing from God.
